Got through the Blacktide Den mission!! WOOT! *dances* thank the goddess for cheats, wikis, and maps that should you the way through mazes. :P

Think I"m gonna take a break from the game for a bit and get the first issue of Volume 3 of original slash news out and take a soak in the tub. That was a stressfull mission, what with all the freaking skales and skree and being diseased constantly. Fortunately, I was able to take 4 henchmen (<3's Abasi and Sogolon!) with myself and my three heroes (parties of 8 RULE) and I kicked ass. :P

So, I FINALLY made it through the Jokanur Diggings mission AND made level 12 last night! woot!

It sort of helped that I'd sorta been thru the mission as Jin Waters, who I've sort of abandoned in the Eye of the North campaign. Maybe, once I get thru everything, I'll go play him again. For now, Kali Herne is an AWESOME role to play too. Esp w/her spiky festive hat. :P

I was going to go walk but there's a t-storm outside so think I'll hop on the treadmill instead.

this was a meh ep for me.

I loved the Garibaldi and Sheridan chat at the end (and all of Ivanova moments). And I liked them revealing more of Franklin's beliefs but it was a bit of a preachy ep, imo.

I like when what's being preached actually doesn't come across as preaching, if that makes sense.

And that's it for disc 1 and for B5 for the night.

Richard Biggs was a pretty, pretty man.

The scene with Susan's father ALWAYS makes me cry.

And Londo and Adira. *sniff*

It's very cool how both main storyline and substory are about broken hearts and forgiveness.

I did think the fact they tricked G'Kar into helping them was funny tho.

Also, it's interesting how the characters of Londo and G'Kar are set up in the first few episodes. How those characterizations change as the series goes on is even more interesting. Right now, I'm very firmly in the pro-Londo camp and G'kar isn't coming across so great.

Any other B5 fans out there with thoughts on the first few eps?

this ep gives glimpses of things to come but it also is very interesting in how it introduces the concept of the soul and death in the series.

Not just to the Soul Hunters but to the humans and the Minbari too.

Great way to introduce more thinky stuff as well as plot stuff too.

the thing i've loved MOST about B5 is how "real" it is. Yes it's sci-fi but they show people in their regular clothing, as well as their uniforms, they have dirt and disease and strife and poor people and different cultures and I LOVE IT!!!

So ep 2, the Soul Hunter one, I remembered I loved this one because of it showing all of the above and more.

Amazon has s1-s5 of Babylon 5 on sale as a repackage and I got each season for $23.99 each AND I got the B5 Movie Collection repackage for that amount too! NOW I can find out what happened after s1! WOOHOO!!!

So, I've been reading LOTS of Harry Potter fanfiction lately and, while I enjoy it, there is one thing I'll never understand. How come, in stories where the characters are all written as being adults, do they STILL refer to each other by the house they were sorted in to when they started school? Esp if Hogwarts is never even mentioned in the story.

Is it a boarding school thing?

Thinking about the Harry Potter Universe. Isn't 11 yrs old a bit "old" to bring Muggle borns into the wizarding world?

I know 11 yr olds and they're pretty well established in the world they live and what's in it. So, taking a kid from a non-magical place and then putting them into Hogwarts? Seems like leaving it a bit too late, imo.
